In Memory

I planned on stitching this as a Christmas gift for my mother, to honor HER mother.  My plan was to start it on September 1, my birthday, as it is a special day for both me and my mother.  Mom passed away on August 29 (my father's birthday - he would have been 74).  After much thought and many, many tears, I have decided I will still stitch it to honor my grandmother, and also to honor my mother, though her name will not be featured.

This is "In Memory" by Midsummer Night Designs, featured in the July/August 2008 issue of Just Cross Stitch.  I will be starting it on January 1, 2012.  I miss you terribly, Mom.

I think that's a lovely idea. I was stitching L&L's Angelica when my grandmother passed away (literally stitching it in the room with her!)
It's a great memory of her hung on my wall, she never gets rotated unlike my other stitched pictures.
I fell pregnant with my son about a year later and we're convinced that Nana had something to do with choosing him!!

What a lovely reminder of both your mother and grandmother. {{{hugs}}} - I can't imagine losing my parents (although I know it will happen one of these days).

I'm so sorry for the lost of your mom. (((HUGS))) This is lovely and doubly so since it will be for both your mom and grandma.
